Meet Marlin
Marlin D. Slack is a New York–based American actor, singer, television host, and worship artist originally from Hammond, Indiana. He is best known as the host of Set For Life, a nationally syndicated television series that aired across the United States, Canada, and Mexico from 2011–2014, as well as for his dynamic stage work throughout the country.
Trained in both classical and contemporary vocal styles, Marlin’s musical foundation was shaped by gospel, R&B, and musical theatre legends such as Heather Headley, Richard Smallwood, Mahalia Jackson, and Fred Hammond. His passion for live performance began at the age of eight when his mother enrolled him in his first vocal lessons—an experience that sparked a lifelong commitment to the arts.
Marlin holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Long Island University (2017) and is currently completing his Master’s degree in Arts Education at Brooklyn College, City University of New York. He continues to appear in prime-time television and actively hosts and co-produces inspirational podcasts.
mAbove all, Marlin is a proud disciple of Jesus Christ and is deeply committed to using his gifts to inspire, uplift, and share the Gospel at every opportunity..
